Jimi Haselden was DeathAn inquest into the death of Jimi Heselden, 62, was opened and adjourned at Leeds Coroner's Court on Monday.

A West Yorkshire Police officer told Leeds coroner David Hinchliff that Mr Heselden's "lifeless" body was found near Wetherby on 26 September.


The head of the Royal Armouries museum has hailed Jimi Heselden, the Leeds tycoon who died in a fall on his Segway scooter, as a life-saver for British troops.
Lieutenant-General Jonathon Riley, director general and master of the Royal Armouries museum in Leeds, described Mr Heselden as "a true friend to British soldiers overseas."


Mr Heselden's Leeds company, Hesco Bastion, recently sponsored The Observation Post in the Tournament Gallery of the Royal Armouries in Leeds. According to a post-mortem examination, Leeds-born Mr Heselden died from injuries he received in the fall. Jimi Heselden, Segway owner dies after falling off a cliff near his home in West Yorkshire this weekend.

The police recovered the transportation vehicle and the Segway owner’s dead body.

Segway was first launched as a substitute for short-distance transportation. The vehicle’s battery is rechargeable.
